Title IX requires your school to investigate claims of sexual violence and sexual harassment against students

Title IX is a federal law that requires public schools, colleges, and universities to prevent sex or gender-based discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual violence, and hostile educational environments based on sex, gender or sexual identity and orientation. If you have been accused of sexual discrimination or misconduct in an educational environment, your school or institution is required to investigate the matter, determine whether or not the accusation is true, and if the accusation is deemed to be true, to impose an appropriate sanction or other measures to prevent further harassment or harm to the accuser.
